Yes - its reached that point in the hols. Im hiding out in the kitchen with the laptop, cos theres just too much small boy in my living room. I keep hearing the odd snatch of conversation which does make me snigger. Apparantly if you finish a set on Rockband you get 20000 fans and some coupons for asda. I think this may be a lie.

So the earlier blog was me being a tad hungover and musing on the merits of toast. I came down in favour of it.

Anyway, I think Ive been a bit bored today. Earlier I was lazing on the sofa poking the dog with my toe and blowing raspberries at her. Kids said I was being mean, but I said I just wanted to harrass someone and she was closest.

Ive decided when my kids both leave home Im gonna get me a pikey caravan and live by the sea. I was talking about this to girlchild. She says if I do it when Im old Ill be eccentric but any time before that just trailer trash. She may have a point. Actually shes partly to blame anyway cos I want her flat. I just think the smaller the space the easier to clean and I can see me turning into a crazy cat lady no bother. Ive already stopped brushing my hair so Im well on the way.

In other news I really think I have to cut down on the beer a bit on Monday nights. First reason being the drunker I get the more hellish I think my dancing is and I woke up this morning with a mild case of whiplash. Second being its really affecting my memory. Apparantly last night I read an email from a friend of mine when I got in. I have absolutely no recollection of this at all. Although I suppose that might be a good thing - means people can tell me the same stuff over and over and Ill find it just as interesting every time.

Did feel very sorry for a mate of mine. Went to London for something, ate a hotdog (he didnt go to London specifically for a hotdog obviously cos that would just be stupid) and then spent 7 hours on a National Express with food poisoning. Ouch!

Oh and then spent ten minutes outside at the end of the night crawling about a friends car trying to entice a frog from underneath it. Personally I couldnt see it so I think it had already fugged off and was probably lurking in the shadows laughing at us.

Reminds me a bit of a rabbit incident the other night driving home. Stupid thing ran in front of my car........ for about a mile. Didnt have the sense to vear left or right, and I ended up crawling along behind it til I turned off.

Anyway I suppose I should shut up now really - can only avoid my living room for so long.

Results Week

First apologies for being an ignorant git and not getting round to answering comments yet but its been such a busy week! Tuesday was girlchilds 18th Birthday. Started the celebrations with a family/friends doo on Sunday, where my folks were the drunkest ones there. Was a bit worried they wouldnt enjoy it but they had a great time, aided by a great deal of wine. My little blonde mate kept looking at them and looking at me and saying 'now so much makes sense' specially when someone nearly picked up my mums wine glass accidentally and she growled 'gerroff thats mine'. Girlchild seemed to thoroughly enjoy it though. Monday was rock night so we all piled down there and the DJ very kindly said happy birthday to her for the next day without dropping her in it about her being a day underage.

Tuesday we spent the day BBQing and she had her mates round. Ended up with them all in the house while I was outside in the hoying it down rain under a gazebo, but everything was cooked and noone was poisoned, although I did manage to horribley burn my finger. Well ok its not much more than a scratch but sympathy pleeeease. And only one of the darlings got so drunk they puked which is always a plus (and she hit the bucket every time, so result!)

So today was results day - and she did really well! Passed everything, and got more than the results she needed to be accepted to her uni.

To be honest I was an emotional wreck, so pleased for her and so proud I snuffley cried all the way home in the car - which probably looked a bit odd to the other road users. So anyway shes in the pub currently with her friends celebrating.

Anyway thats my quick catch up, but congrats to anyone who got the results they wanted and commisserations to anyone that didnt!

Just a quicky tonight.....

First, girl child went off for a festival at the weekend, and when she got back I asked if she had a nice time. She said 'Well I had a time..........' I like it and plan to use it on all occasions that dont exactly go to plan.

So its her birthday next week - 18th, and Im starting to think I really should get my ass in gear and organize things.

Oh and the other day we were talking about the planets, and ya know that memory trick - my (mercury) very (venus) excellent (earth) memory (mars) just (jupiter) stores (saturn) up (uranus) nine (neptune) planets (well that was pluto but now its UB313, which I believe is called Eris?????????) Anyway I need to go find a teacher and thump em just cos Im confused.

Right I shall leave you with a vid I made over the weekend. Its very long and a bit dark but its still my fave Ive made. Was a total labour of love cos its one of my all time fave films.....

Today I got a phone bill for 7p. The call duration was 0.00 seconds. Im a tad confused..........

In other news went over to my folks for a meal with the kids and we had a great time, but my mum wouldnt stop taking the piss out of my dad cos he broke his watch. Apparantly she thinks its unreasonable to try to get the back on again by hitting it with a hammer. I think she may have a point. Apparantly the numbers 2 and 3 fell off along with the winder. So its permenantly time for tea......

So the wedding dress hunt is on (nobody have a coronary - read the blog below!) and there are a couple Im watching on ebay at the moment, but I have to say while trawling through, there have been a couple of things that have amused me. First was this..........

The second thing that had me really chortling was this translation on an advert........

Strangely I may chose and belive him cos I have frequently found that formal clothing did cause me bright-colored moving.

Counting to ten.......

cos tonight Im a bit cross. Boychild went off this morning to go paintballing with a bunch of mates. The event was 'organized' by one of their dads. Half five, he comes in white as a ghost, runs through the house and promptly herps. Once hes a bit more comfy I get to the bottom of it. Apparantly he'd had a migrane for hours and been throwing up pretty much continuously, and the f**kwit Dad hadnt had the sense to ring me to come get him. To add injury to insult, the £30 the day cost was supposed to be £25 for the paintballing and paintballs and £5 for food. The father in question had f**ked up and they got extra paintballs and nothing to eat all day. I AM SINGULARLY UNIMPRESSED!!! I mean part of me is thinking Im being a tad unreasonable cos least the guy bothered to take em but on the other hand, the poor kid came back in such a state, Im wondering if he's got an IQ slightly higher than a sock.

Anyway Im not gonna rant all blog. Last night went to see the fabulous Emz, who is getting married towards the end of this year. Shes having her hen night on Halloween and I know its ages away yet but Im soooooo excited. I love getting dressed up anyway for any reason, and I specially love Halloween. So were all goin to a big Halloween party in a hotel and the best bit is were all going as corpse brides. So Im currently on the hunt for a wedding dress to shred and throw fake blood over - YIPPEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Too hot to bother thinking of a real blog though, so Im gonna give you a top tip instead.

Now I know theres currently hell on about downloading music and what not, so obviously you should only use this for downloading uncopyrighted (I think I may have just made that word up) material.......

but anyway its a link to a youtube converter for copying uncopyrighted material although obviously it would work for anything, just in case you cant find the uncopyrighted material you want on limewire or the like. Works really well, converts to various formats including mp3, only thing is unless you subscribe you only get to do one every half hour, but Ive managed to find a couple of uncopyrighted things there I couldnt anywhere else. Shame about the copyrighted music isnt it............

So currently warming up for a night out and drinking something called a swimming pool (yes I really am that thirsty), and aside from the slight hint of meths its quite nice, its also a rather shocking colour of purest green. Word to the wise, if you should happen to come across a swimming pool in this shade I suggest you dont get in.

Right mostly today things to share.

First would you like to see our little Comrade Donut? The point of this video is not infact how cute our hamster is, but the racket in the back ground I have to live with on a daily basis. The God awful noise you can hear is boychild drumming like mad. Gawd bless him and all he stands for.

Haaang on a minute......

I seem to have not so much of an empty glass as no glass at all and unless Im very much mistaken its Saturday..... Sorted.

Having just finished my third course of anti biotics in as many weeks (for something trifling never fear) I am back on the hoy at last - huzzaaaaaaaaaaah. Pah! 1st lot threatened to kill me, second lot didnt work and hopefully this last lot did the trick but its been hell! And obviously having my favourite hobby unavailable to me Ive been forced to comfort shop which has lead me to the conclusion I have a problem (no not the beer - thats not a problem at all cos it slides down nicely). I was totting up with my friend last night and in the last 7 days I have aquired 18 new pairs of socks. I have no idea why but I seem incapable of walking past a funky/stripey/generally loud pair without em leaping off the shelf into my hand. I wonder if theres a self help group for that....

So today went out with the kids and saw a real life lady with a beard. I mean that wasnt the purpose of our trip, just a byproduct. So on the way home I popped into the shops and left em in the car. Now I understand this is irresponsible if theyre teeny but for Gods sake theyre nearly 18 and 15. However when I came back girlchild in the front was all tangled up in seat belts and there were smeary marks all over the windows. Cant take em anywhere.

Reeeeeeeeeet - little joke my mate sent me (its ruuuuuuuuude so stop reading now if your a prude )

After the birth of her sixth child, Jane decided that she should have some cosmetic surgery 'down below' to restore herself to her former youthful glory because her bomb doors were dangling a bit too low and looked like a ripped out fireplace. Time and children had taken its toll and she reckoned that, with six children now being the limit, she'd tidy things with a nip here and a tuck there so it looked more like a piggy bank slot rather than a badly packed kebab.

Following the operation she awoke from her anaesthetic to find three roses at the end of the bed. Who are these from?' she asked the nurse, 'They're very nice but I'm a bit confused as to why I've received them.' 'Well' said the nurse, 'The first is from the surgeon - the operation went so well and you were such a model patient that he wanted to say thanks.'

'Ahhh, that's really nice' said Jane. 'The second is from your husband - he's delighted theoperation was such a success that he can't wait to get you home. Apparently it'll be the first time he's touched the sides for years and he's very excited!'

'Brilliant!' said Jane. 'And the third?'

'That's from Eric, a patient in the burns unit,' said the nurse. 'He just wanted to say thanks for his new ears.'

Posting this cos her accent and the rough translation charms the socks (oh I just realized what I said - I really do have a sock fetish) off me........

Evening All.....

So Id like to say my recent absence has been down to something like foiling spy plots or spying foil plots or something equally exciting, but actually ive just been really busy.

Anyway having felt like I spent the week with a dark cloud following me about today I feel like this..........

(thats meant to be good by the way)

So the beginning of this week was the girlchilds prom. Aside from the fact she forgot her ticket and I had to do a mercy dash I think she had a good time. She decided to forego a meringue dress and get something off this fab Lolita goth site she found. Waiting for some proper photos off her but in the meantime a rather rubbish one I took on my phone.

So this week the boychild has been doing work experience with me. Now Im sure his mates thought he'd get an easy ride, but no no no. Knowing full well how very capable he is on a PC Ive had him working his little socks off for me. Hes done leaflets and business cards and appointment cards and tomorrow were doing a website. Huzzah for slave labour, cos one of the things about work experience is your totally not allowed to pay your slaveImeanchild. (Although I have promised him a present cos he really has worked hard).

Oh and in other news this weeks Kerrang is giving away a free CD of covers of Iron Maiden songs. I mean did you hear me? FREEEEEEEEEE (gotta love that) and its bands youve actually heard of, which is a cheeky bonus.

So raring to go now cos it be rock night and the alkypops and voddys are already aflowing.

Girl child is back now and had a great time but unfortunately while she was away her hamster died. We now have a new one and the burning issue is what it should be called. So far weve come up with a few suggestions which were all rubbish - boychild suggested Crotch. As of yet we are undecided so suggestions welcome. Friend of girlchild suggested we all pick a name and use it and the most dominant and suitable name will be the one we end up using. We both said - PAH he has no idea how stubborn we are as a fambly - poor little thing would end up with lots of names and a complex.

Also today I noticed I am now fat. I didnt think it was possible to get fat in two days but apparantly it is if you eat enough, so tomorrow IM goin on a health kick - but not tonight cos have you seeen how many calories are in alkypops and theyre a necessity?

First - to my American friends........

Girl child is actually in America at the moment so she'll be able to see what you all get up to. Shes only 17 so keep a lid on it people ;O)

One of the bestest bits of being a mum is seeing things through the eyes of your kids.

This clip was on TV the other day and although I remembered it well from when I was a wee one, boychild just about fell off his chair he thought it was so awesome. Made me appreciate it all over again.

Couldnt decide whether to post this next clip or not cos its really badly edited, but I think its kinda gorgeous (although probably not to everybodys taste)....

So moving along, got together with a couple of my mates last night. Turns out my tiny mate has taken up cage fighting. Said no way Id go watch her cos Id spend the whole time peaking through my hands making an oooooo sound through my teeth. Although I have said when were out if anything kicks off Im just gonna stand behind her and watch her do her thing cos shell be like Taz.

Ive been thinking about this lately - fate or chance and I guess I come down on the side of blind luck....... but it makes ya think. My old mum says everyones life is mapped out for em, and there are people in my life that I coulda missed by moments who are incredibley important to me........ Are you lucky if you get hit by lightning and you survive or unlucky cos it happened in the first place? Are you unlucky cos bad things happen in your life or lucky cos they make you who you are?

Aaaanyway - with this in mind, luck and near misses.

Gamer bit - move along nothing to see here

So anyway on Saturday trolled to the Metrocentre with the boychild and got Rock Band which is totally the canines testeeees! We scraped every penny we had together and went and purchased it then sniggered with guilt and excitement all the way home in the car. Oddly when your playing Xbox with your son and his mate the usual parent/child roles go out the window. Im by far the poorest player so Im playing bass on medium difficulty whilst boychild is mostly doing drums and his mate is playing lead on expert cos hes really good, and also alot kinder to me than my son who loses his temper every time I bomb out (which I might add only happens on Run to the Hills cos its reeeeeeeeeeally hard ;O) The biggest difference between Rock Band and Guitar Hero is the drum kit. Found this vid of this bloke who is completely brilliant at em (needs to play with that kid I blogged a while back playing Fire and Flames on expert). You really only appreciate how good these people are if youve had a go.

Soap Box Bit

One of the things that bugs the crap out of me is the comments people like this get on youtube. Must have no life etc. This from people who have so much time on their hands they can spend it trawling Youtube leaving bitchy comments. Modern gaming is not bad for kids (so long as you make sure they dont sit on their asses all day) - aside from the obvious side effects of improving hand eye coordination, alot of the modern networking games teach kids strategy and cooperation. And as for making em anti social, my son hears more real voices than I do sitting here chatting on messenger. Aaaaaaaaand the huge plus is I know hes safe.

Computer seems to be sorted for the time being. Although Im soooooooooo terribly busy at the moment I really dont have time to sit and play here and I definitely dont have time to be surfing about youtube finding stupid, sick, cringeworthy and just plain gross stuff. I think Im just hysterical.........

First lets talk about drinking. In fact lets have a few lessons from the masters.......

So Im easing you into this one, cos I now think its time to talk about drinking more seriously. Drinking where you need it most. At work. (although I should probably mention - this ones a bit ruuuuude)

bloody bo**ocking tw*t munchers..........

My beloved PC has come down with a virus. If I lose all my music cos of some t*t of a computer nerd who did it just to prove he could Im gonna be sooooooooo annoyed. Currently using the laptop which is why all the commentsI left tonight were rubbish cos I cant type on this flipping things keyboard for toffee.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaail...........

Ok I feel a bit better now thats out of my system.
